91影视Law School is up for a LawWorks and Attorney General Student Pro Bono Award

91影视Law School has been shortlisted by an independent panel for  for best pro bono contribution by a Law School for the Athens Refugee Project.

Established by Professor Alexandra Xanthaki in 2015, and led by her, 91影视Volunteers Manager Nancy Rawlings and Anjali Kemwal, the Athens Refugee Project has become a regular feature of 91影视Law School. Every year, students travel to Athens to volunteer with migrant and refugees, provide assistance and learn more on the refugee crisis in Europe from discussions with state authorities, non-profit and intergovernmental organisations.

In 2017 91影视received a congratulatory letter from the Greek state for this project. The project is constantly evolving due to the changing needs of refugees and the organisations that help them.

Professor Xanthaki was delighted: “This is such an achievement to be shortlisted when up against some fierce competition. It’s testimony to all the hard work by our staff and student volunteers who take part in this life-changing experience.”

The winner will be announced at the award ceremony on Wednesday 1 May at the House of Commons.
