Afghanistan and Central Asian Association is an organisation that supports London's refugee community and the Afghan diaspora in the United Kingdom, providing a wide range of social, cultural, and educational services in order to break down language and cultural barriers. The organisation has a long-standing integration agenda, with campaigns for human rights and democracy.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will assist with communication efforts related to political campaigns. As a Political Communications Intern, you will gain valuable experience and develop a range of skills related to political communication and public relations, such as research and analysis, public speaking, and social media engagement.
Typical duties include:
- Contacting charities and businesses in the UK and internationally to raise awareness of ACAA's work and find potential funding and partnerships
- Contacting British Members of Parliament, Councillors, and Politicians in other countries who have an interest in Afghanistan and Central Asia
- Organising events to highlight the impact of ACAA's work
- To write press releases, articles, and content for social media
Please note, a CV is required for this role and the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
