Approve - How do I approve a web page?

Question:
Approve - How do I approve a web page?
Answer:

Approval/Submission Content

Once you have finished with a page you can either pass it to another user, or, ‘Submit and approve’ it. The latter publishes the page on the live site if you have the relevant permissions. The options for publishing are under the ‘Workflow’ button in the top-right.

  • ‘Check-In’ puts the page back in Contensis without re / publishing it. Anyone with the correct permissions can then edit it. Whilst you have any content checked out, Contensis tries to prevent other users from editing it.
  • ‘Pass To Another User’ will open a pop-up window where you can specify a recipient and add a short message.
  • ‘Submit’ / ‘Submit with message’ will put the page back in to Contensis and notify an authoriser that the page is ready to be checked and approve. Checked in and a message sent to the approval group.
  • Submit & Approve sends the page / content to the publishing queue where it will become live for all to see.

Approving/Declining Content(Top)

Approving pages sends those pages to the publisher to make them live i.e. it publishes them to the live website.

A user can only approve a page after it has been submitted for approval, and it is only possible to approve pages if you have been given approval permissions.

There are a number of ways that you can authorise pages:

Approve or Decline Content from your Inbox

Contensis email notifications now include a link that allows you to access the system to Approve or Decline the content directly from your email. If already logged in to Contensis, the link will take you to the Approval screen.
